YHS (that's "Your Humble Scribe..." been asked a few time what that means) will be reporting this weekend pier side at the commissioning of the Navy's latest addition to the fleet. The soon to be USS George H. W. Bush (CVN-77).
Not sure what to expect, but I'll have many details (and the obligatory photos) upon my return. Watch this space...
I've been to many commissioning ceremonies in my past including the re-commissioning of the USS New Jersey back in December 1982 ("The Gipper" himself was there for that one) but I have not had the privilege of witnessing a carrier "Come to Life." It promises to be intriguing.
