A fine online representative of The Navy, Naval Aviation and our great Navy Tradition, Neptunus Lex was interviewed on the topic of MilBloggers by Juan Devis of KCET. And a quality interview it is!
Lex is pretty much a Flight Suit Philosopher. A very well written, obviously very well read, and quite current Navy Captain. Many Tailhookers know Lex personally, but many of us only know Lex through the eloquent and well structured postings on his weblog. He has become a favorite of active duty military officers and enlisted as well as those on the outside of the warrior culture looking in.
Lex and Juan cover a number of very relevant, current and intriguing topics Lex regularly writes about on his blog, including:
- The benefits of blogging
- The GWOT
- The thrills of a career as an F-18 pilot
- Philosophy
- Comparisons between the New Media (Bloggers etc...) and the traditional media (TV and News Papers)
- And the interview closes with a topic most dear to Lex's heart... his family.
When asked, who reads his blog, he mentions the above demographic but he calls special note to the younger officers in the Navy looking to a voice of mentorship that conveys understanding and respect of what they are going through, and he expresses his honor for the role he has found himself.
Lex did the "Senior Service" proud in this interview. Well worth the listen, click the link.
As an aside: On his Blog, Lex links to the "Tailhook Daily Briefing" in an area he cordons off for "Smarter'n Me". Flattered we are... accurate you are? Not-so-much!
Bravo Zulu Lex! Keep up the good work!
