UPDATE (April 26, 2010):
Sorry folks, but the Comment Trolls are still out in force. For the time being I have implemented "Comment Moderation" once again, meaning that I will have to review all comments prior to releasing to the blog. So there may be a delay from when you post your comment to when you see it here on these pages.
My apologies for the inconvenience, I will do my best to stay on top of things in between "Day Job" meetings calls, spreadsheets, etc...
A bit of a NOTAM here folks…
As of late, the “Comment Troll” traffic has been on the rise. A “Comment Troll” is anyone who has ulterior motives to posting a comment other than what is germane to the subject matter of the article. Thus many of you have been seeing comments by pill peddlers, shoe salesmen, and regular 28 year old pajama clad, blow-up-doll-dating-still-living-with-Mom-and-Dad publicity hounds.
If it continues at the current rate (about 4 per day) I will be forced to turn comment moderation back on. Meaning your comments to the articles written here will not appear immediately, but only after I have had the chance to vet the content for appropriateness and approved it for publishing (a PITA for everyone). I will not, rpt NOT, censor comments based on their agreement or disagreement with the article, this is a “Free Speech” area, so long as it remains somewhat civil it will see the light of the blogosphere. And for the most part The Tailhook Daily Briefing has remained just that… Civil.
But, it doesn’t mean I will allow Trolls to take advantage of us. What pushed me to write this is that a couple of the turds even posted their crap on the posts dedicated to Kojak Davis, and to Turk Green! I will not abide that kind of indignity!
For now, coms will continue as usual. But if the chaff continues, we’ll have to switch to secure coms. Sorry for the inconvenience. I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
-JC out…
I am an airline pilot at US Airways and looking for any information in regards to my uncle, Lieutenant Commander William Carey, concerning an accident on March 4, 1963 aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. He was assisting A3D's coming on board the Kitty Hawk when the arresting cable broke. It severed his one leg at the hip and the other one below the knee. His service #595946, I would appreciate any information anyone would have regarding this accident.
